## CS:GO Mentor LMBT Has His ESIC Prohibition Removed – Electronic Sports – iGB
Sergey “LMBT” Belyaev, one of the 37 CS:GO mentors prohibited for their involvement in a recent deception scandal, has had his punishment rescinded by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).
LMBT, who was previously the mentor of the professional CS:GO squad Forze, was initially prohibited for 7.5 months. He was suspected of exploiting the “viewer bug” in CS:GO, which permitted mentors to freely navigate the game map during contests and transmit information about enemy positions to their squad.
However, after appealing the verdict and providing supporting documentation, footage, and third-party evidence, ESIC commissioners were convinced that LMBT was not at his computer during the two instances he was suspected of exploiting the bug. In the other two cases, he disconnected promptly and sought administrator assistance, thus not gaining any unfair advantage through the bug.
As a result, ESIC has immediately lifted the prohibition, and LMBT is now free to mentor teams participating in ESIC member events once again.
The ESIC has been conducting an inquiry since September, barring numerous coaches from interacting with their squads for a period of 15 minutes before and during games. These prohibitions vary in duration, ranging from four months to three years.
Trainers are also prohibited from being in close proximity to their teams or on game servers during matches, appearing on official competition channels on Discord, participating in the map selection process, or communicating with their teams during this process.
The ESIC anticipates concluding the investigation by the end of October, at which point they will publish a report outlining their conclusions.
