NeoGames subsidiary, Wizard Games, has declared that Dimitar Panteleev will be their new head of game technology.

Panteleev will be in charge of guiding the development team, implementing new technologies, and supervising the quality assurance and research groups.

Prior to joining Wizard Games, Panteleev was the Chief Technology Officer at The Better Platform, a Bulgarian iGaming firm. He was responsible for constructing and maintaining their online casino platform.

Before that, he was the Head of Development at FootballScout and worked in the Personal Finance division of BNP Paribas in Paris. Earlier in his career, he was a software engineer at a Bulgarian software company.

Panteleev also co-founded Make Sense, a company that develops business solutions for retail stores.

“Wizard Games has launched some of the most impressive and thrilling games in the industry this year,” said Panteleev. “I am thrilled to contribute to their growth as the Director of Game Technology.”

“We have a strong start, and some remarkable things are happening behind the scenes. I am truly enjoying working on some extraordinary projects. I am looking forward to the next phase and can’t wait to unveil what we are creating.”

Wizard Games will continue to develop and push the limits of slot machine development in the upcoming year,” said Benedict MacDonald, head of Wizard Games. “Dimitris will be a key player in this advancement.

“We are delighted to have him join our team and we believe he will help Wizard Games achieve new milestones.”

NeoGames’ recent success in the third quarter was fueled by expansion in its US operations.
This appointment follows NeoGames, the parent company of Wizard Games, reporting strong third-quarter results. CEO Moti Malul stated that the growth of its US lottery business was a major factor in this achievement.

Adjusted earnings for the three-month period totaled $19.9 million (£15.6 million/€18.2 million), an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. NeoGames also reduced its net loss from $4.4 million to $3.6 million.

The net loss for the first nine months decreased from $18.2 million to $12.2 million. This contributed to a significant increase in adjusted earnings for the first nine months, from $36.4 million to $58 million.

All this occurs as the company is being acquired by Aristocrat Leisure. In May 2023, Aristocrat agreed to pay $1.2 billion to acquire the supplier’s shares.

Since then, the NeoGames board and the supplier’s stakeholders have voted overwhelmingly in support of the agreement. Subject to the fulfillment of closing conditions, Aristocrat and NeoGames aim to finalize the transaction in the first half of fiscal year 2024.
