Veikkaus, Finland’s gambling monopoly, has joined forces with the National Hockey League (NHL).
The arrangement will continue until the 2023-24 season, with Veikkaus becoming the NHL’s official wagering partner in Finland.
Veikkaus will collaborate with the league to provide Finnish enthusiasts with a variety of NHL material through its platforms, while VeikkausTV will also offer live transmissions of NHL matches.
“We are thrilled to have Veikkaus as our partner, supplying us with top-tier NHL content,” stated Joseph Stravato, NHL’s head of business development. “This collaboration is one method we are serving Finnish NHL fans and extending our global fan base.”
Tuomo Tolkkora, Veikkaus’s communications director, added: “The NHL is one of the most popular betting destinations for Veikkaus. Through the official partnership, we will be able to provide even more content from the world’s best hockey league through our channels in the future.
“Finnish players have a significant and prominent role in several NHL teams, which has ignited interest among our customers. Hockey is a very important sport for Veikkaus, and this partnership will further expand our comprehensive hockey product.”
The 2022-23 NHL season commenced on October 7th and will conclude in June.
The San Jose Sharks and the Nashville Predators initiated the NHL season in Europe, competing in the Czech Republic as part of the NHL Global Series.
