Simon Thomas, the proprietor of the Hippodrome Casino in London, is a staunch advocate of the ICE London exposition in April.

Thomas has a longstanding association with the exhibition and its precursor, ATEI, and believes the event is a pivotal step in the land-based gambling industry’s resurgence from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I truly miss the chance to connect with my colleagues in person,” Thomas remarked. “Genuine conversations take place at events like this.”

“London has been at the vanguard of the battle against COVID-19, and restrictions have been lifted. Now the most crucial aspect is to concentrate on rebuilding the industry, and ICE London is an excellent opportunity. I anticipate seeing everyone there.”

Since ICE shifted to April, the ICE VOX conference will commence on April 11th, with the exhibition following on the 12th and continuing until the 14th. This move has received widespread support.

The European Casino Association and the Betting and Gaming Council have also endorsed the April date.

“I’m pleased that the markets we serve are enthusiastic and committed to getting the show back on track,” stated Stuart Hunter, managing director of Clarion Gaming.

The top-level group is collaborating closely with their counterparts at ExCeL London to identify a fresh date for one of the UK’s most successful and expansive offline business gatherings. The gathering, which takes place alongside iGB Affilate London, draws in over 700 gaming industry vendors.

Finding a new date is a demanding endeavor, necessitating the shifting of six other events to enable ICE to utilize the entire ExCeL space, which is essential for its full operation.

Hunter acknowledged that the new date is not perfect for all parties involved, stating that it is “very unfortunate.”

“[We] will continue to exert every effort to conquer the obstacles and provide assistance for the preparation and planning of the world’s largest and most influential gaming industry event.”

He stated that the new date has garnered widespread backing from both the public and private sectors. An independent survey of ICE London stakeholders is also in progress, with initial responses “overwhelmingly favorable,” suggesting that exhibitors will form a robust exhibition.

“I am certain that the market comprehends that we are doing everything within our power to host another successful ICE London and commemorate the industry’s return in the most effective manner.”
