Caroline Ackroyd has formally assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at XLMedia, a digital media firm. This follows the company’s initial disclosure of her hiring in November 2021.

Ackroyd contributes extensive financial expertise to XLMedia. She succeeds interim CFO Rowan Ellis, who took over following Iain Barksby’s exit in July of the previous year. Ellis will resume his prior role as a financial advisor and will facilitate a seamless handover.

As CFO, Ackroyd will also become a member of XLMedia’s board, collaborating with CEO Stuart Simms and non-executive directors Julie Markey, Richard Rosenberg, Jonas Martensson, Ori Weis, and Cédric Boireau.

“I am thrilled to be joining XLMedia and eager to collaborate with the team to expand upon the solid groundwork already established and achieve the exciting next chapter of expansion,” Ackroyd stated when her appointment was revealed last year.

Prior to joining XLMedia, she held the CFO position at Sheffield-based media enterprise Jaywing since 2020. Before that, Ackroyd served as CFO at video consultation firm Push Doctor.

Ackroyd also offers invaluable expertise gained during her tenure at Sky Betting & Gaming, where she functioned as Commercial Finance Director from 2015 to 2018. She previously held the position of Deputy Finance Director at Sky Betting & Gaming from 2006 to 2011.

Caroline contributes a substantial background in the gaming sector to XLMedia, having held the position of Group Finance Director at Gala Coral for a period exceeding two years.

“Caroline is a highly accomplished CFO, and I am thrilled to welcome her to both the XLMedia leadership team and the Board,” remarked Stuart Simms, CEO of XLMedia, upon her hiring in November.

“Her extensive comprehension and expertise within our industry, particularly regarding our US sports operations currently experiencing rapid expansion, will be indispensable as we implement our strategic plan.”
